Rimmel Sweetie Crush Violet Swizzel Polish

There are so many lovely polishes out at the moment for spring and summer 2014. I've got quite a few recent purchases to show you over the next few weeks. 

I am going to start with this awesome Rimmel Sweetie Crush polish called Violet Swizzle. As with all textured polishes I was slightly wary of these even though Rimmel created the amazing Space Dust collection. However, the Sweetie Crush collection are pretty awesome. I love this gorgeous pastel lilac polish. Lilac is one of my favourite colours at the moment so I think a shimmery,pastel, textured polish is just what I need right now. This polish applies really nicely with one of Rimmel's famous wide brushes. At first this polish looks like it will be very sheer. After the second coat of polish it becomes beautifully opaque. I would recommend not painting too much polish on your nails as you won't get very good results. This polish dried fairly quickly and looked much more shimmery in real life!

NOTD: Easter Weekend

Last night I went to my local pub with my old school friend and I decided to wear this really lovely Seche Vite pink polish with Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday glitter polish. I bought these polishes when I was in Edinburgh at the weekend and I really love them. Reviews will be coming soon!:)

Topshop Baby Blues Polish

Topshop's Baby Blues polish is a green and blue glitter fleck polish. I tried this polish over white polish and I think it looks great. The combination of blue and green flecks of glitter is quite unique and looks awesome. I love having nails which are a little bit different and I think this polish really provides that. I had to place the glitter flecks quite strategically so I could get an even distribution of glitter across each of my nails. This attention to detail really pays off though. The polish formula is a nice consistency and isn't too thick. Topshop's polish brush did a great job of applying this glitter to my nails. 

Ofcourse, being a glitter polish it was a nightmare to photograph. It looks so much better in real life-I promise!

If you are looking for a different nail look I would definitely recommend this polish!

Easter Nail Art

I was experimenting with my Models Own Nail Art pens and created a slightly Easter Egg looking design. This wasn't what I had intended but I thought I would just go with it. I think because the nail art pens are pastel colours it makes my nails look more like decorated eggs. To achieve this look I painted my nails white and left them to dry for a bit. I then used the brush part of the pens to paint on my polish in thin strokes and blend it together. It is quite a random design but I think it looks cute.

Models Own Mutli-coloured Mini Egg Nails

Seeing as it is Easter I decided I would paint my nails with all of my awesome Models Own Speckled Eggs polishes! I LOVE this look. I think it is really cute and fun. Also, who doesn't want their nails to look like mini eggs. I am therefore going to celebrate Easter by digging into some mini eggs with my mini egg nails! Woohoo! Bring me the chocolate!

Models Own's Swan Polish: Speckled Eggs Collection

The fourth polish I have from the Speckled Eggs collection by Models Own is called Swan. It is a lovely lilac polish which again makes your nails look like delicious mini eggs! Yum! I think Models Own have done such a great job of creating great pastel polishes with a speckled effect. This lilac polishes shares the same amazing formula as the other polishes from the collection. It applies surprisingly easily to the nails which is due to its perfect formula and its great brush. I hope everyone has had as good an experience as I have had with these polishes- I am very impressed. I really love this collection and definitely think they are worth purchasing.

Models Own's Duck Polish: Speckled Eggs Collection

I just love these Speckled Eggs polishes by Models Own so much. They are fantastic for spring and Easter as they provide a really pretty, festive look. Models Own's Duck polish is a beautiful duck egg blue colour. I love that is it a pastel blue yet it is still quite bright. The polishes from the Speckled Eggs collection make me feel really cheery. This polish is no exception. These polishes are fairly pigmented so once two coats are applied they hold their colour well and are opaque which is just the look we all crave. I really like the formula as it applies smoothly but is not watery or too thick. My top tip for applying these polishes is to paint a thinner layer on first and then complete your nails with a slightly thicker layer. This prevents you from overloading your nails with the polish. 

I highly recommend this lovely Duck polish and the rest of the Speckled Eggs range!

Models Own's Dove Polish: Speckled Eggs Collection

Today I have the lovely Dove polish from Models Own's Speckled Eggs collection to show you. Dove is a pastel pink polish which looks super cute on the nails. This polish literally (ok not literally but almost) transforms your nails into mini eggs. I absolutely love this look and last year I bought two of Illamasqua's similar polishes. I have to say I am definitely more in love with these amazing Models Own polishes. With their great formula which gives you vibrant pastel nails in two coats of polish and their perfect polish brush these polishes are total winners. I highly recommend them!!

Models Own's Magpie Polish: Speckled Eggs Collection

Hey guys!

Since Easter is at the end of the week I thought I would show you some lovely spring polishes. Now you may have already seen Models Own's Speckled Eggs Polishes before but I thought I would let you know what I thought of them and show you how they looked on my nails.

The first of the Speckled Eggs polishes that I tried was Magpie which is a gorgeous mint green colour. I absolutely love mint polishes so Magpie is just awesomeness in a polish bottle in my opinion. It is a beautiful bright mint polish which I think is perfect for the speckled egg look. The speckled egg effect is created by lots of different sized particles of black glitter.

I only needed two coats of this polish to get a lovely opaque finish and I have to say that I am very impressed with the polish formula. It is really nice- not too thick and not too thin. The brush is great at applying this speckled egg polish. It spreads the "speckles" evenly over your nails. 

The finished result is adorable speckled nails which look good enough to eat.
