Maybelline Color Show Street Artist White Splatter Polish

I loved the look of this Maybelline Color Show Street Artist Polish in White Splatter over a mint polish. It looked great although it was pretty difficult to photograph my nails in a way that showed you how cool it looked.

Maybelline's White Splatter Polish applied  smoothly and evenly over the mint base.  The formula was great and the brush did its job well.

This polish has an awesome mixture of shiny and matte glitter particles and strands which vary in size creating a very unique look.

I definitely recommend this polish if you like your nail polish to be a little different.

Free Ciate Mini Polish & Caviar With Marie Claire

I love when magazines come with free Ciate Polish and Caviar Pearls as the pearls are such a treat and the mini bottle lasts a while.

Julys issue of Marie Claire comes with a lovely coral Ciate polish called Play Date and a cute bottle of Caviar Pearls called Cloud Nine. This Caviar is a blend of metallic red pearls and pearlescent/clear pearls.

There are quite a few different duos to choose from but I'm loving this one. I think the magazine was reduced in price too which makes it a double bargain!

I am looking forward to trying these out. I think they will look great together!

Free Leighton Denny Nail Polish

I am so glad that my mum always buys fashion magazines every month as it means that I can benefit from the amazing free nail polish that they sometimes offer. 

Julys issue of Harpers Bazaar comes with a free full sized Leighton Denny polish worth £11.00. Yes, a full sized polish! 

I only have a few Leighton Denny nail polishes so I am really excited that I now have a lovely pink shade. The polish that came with my mums copy of Harpers Bazaar is called Plush Pink.

I shall be doing a review post about this polish soon.

Photo Booth Fun

Today's post is more of a lifestyle one so I hope you like it!

I was at my cousins wedding on Saturday and they had something I had never come across in real life- a photo booth!

After watching the father of the groom (my uncle) mucking about with a Loch Ness Monster hat and an inflatable guitar my Dad was well up for getting in on the photo booth action. Myself & my mum joined in on the fun with him. It was hilarious seeing my family members playing around with all the wigs, hats and of course moustaches. My cousin handed me a moustache which I later passed on to another wedding guest.

We got our little printed out photo which was such a cute souvenir from the day. Soon everyone was having a go in the photo booth, even those family members who are a little more reserved. It was getting everyone into a fun party mood which I loved. I have since checked out all of the photos that were taken in the photo booth on the company's Facebook page and they are brilliant. 

The kids loved it and I think the adults were loving it too by the size of the queue! I really wish that my grandad was around to take part. I think he would have been in heaps of the photos knowing him.

The photo booth photos are a great keep sake for the bride & groom. I think it is an awesome idea to have proper serious photos and then to catch everyone in a jolly mood playing about in fancy dress.

I really just wanted to share my new found love for photo booths and wanted to ask what your thoughts on them are? Have you ever been to a wedding or party with one?

Wedding OOTD

I thought I would give you a little peek at what I wore to my cousins wedding just the other day in case you need some wedding outfit inspiration too. I know its not the most exciting outfit but some of you might be interested.

My dress is an old Pixie Lott for Lipsy dress which I bought a few years ago and have been saving for the right occasion. I recently featured a cream version of this dress. I love how cute these tiered dresses are and I think they are perfect for weddings. Originally I was going to wear it with nude coloured tights but then realised it is actually quite a short dress. As we were attending a church I didn't think it would be appropriate for me to be flashing so much flesh so I ended up wearing black tights. 

I teamed this dress with a black blazer from Miss Selfridge which has a gold zip detail around the waist. I wasn't really a fan of the blazer but it did the job for the day of the wedding. 

In the photos I'm wearing my Katy Perry Lion & prism necklace but by the end of the night I had removed it as it was annoying me.

Katy Perry Lion & Prism Necklace

I have been wearing my Katy Perry for Claire's Accessories Lion & Prism necklace a lot recently. You might have seen it in some of my outfit of the day posts.

This is such a cute necklace so I am definitely glad I held off on buying some statement jewellery until I found this.

I love how detailed the lion is-it has diamanté for eyes! The prisms are studded which I think is awesome and the gorgeous thick gold chain lies really nicely.

This necklace goes great with high neck clothing such as skater dresses (you know how much I love a good skater dress!).

Work OOTD #4

I am loving wearing my red stripped skater dress from H&M at the moment. It is such a lovely fit and it is so comfortable as well which makes it a great work outfit. I wore it with my Katy Perry Lion & prism necklace which I think went really nicely!

Wedding NOTD

I am going to my cousins wedding on Saturday and I needed to change my polish asap as it was horrible. So, I decided to go for a polish that would match the dress that I am wearing. 

I chose Topshop's lovely raspberry High Voltage polish and Barry M's Diamond Glitter polish. Using these polishes reminded me how amazing Topshop's polish formula is!! 

Have you been to a wedding lately? Which polish did you choose to wear?

New Lighting

I have finally done it. After weeks of struggling with the lack of sunlight on days when I was filming I have finally bought some lighting. I held off for as long as possible but I feel that it was a good time to invest in some.  I bought two of the PhotoSEL LS11E22 Tabletop Studio Lights from amazon. I think they were quite reasonably priced at £65.00 for both of them. 

They had to be assembled which made me panic a bit as there were no instructions but luckily my dad surprised me and put them together in 5 minutes. He said it was really easy to assemble them and he is no handy andy! 

They are a lot brighter than I thought they would be which gave me a bit of a shock when I turned them on whilst looking directly into the bulbs!Ahhh!

They are also adjustable which is pretty cool.

I can't wait to start filming with them and to see the difference it makes to my videos and photos on very dark days. I will let you know how I get on with them!

Nails Inc's 2in1 Sloane Street & Knightsbridge Polish

Nails Inc's 2in1 Sloane Street & Knightsbridge Polish is a really pretty bright pink & Pop Art glitter combo polish. 

At one end there is a really lovely pink polish called Sloane Street which has a gorgeous formula which glides on to the nails. I used two coats of this polish for total opacity. I loved the brush as it applied the polish really well. I really like that this pink is almost neon pink but still opaque.

At the other end is a gorgeous pale pink, red and blue Pop Art glitter which is called Knightsbridge. The Pop Art glitter's hexagonal particles are not shiny or sparkly. I think it looks awesome over the pink polish that it has been paired with. It was easy to apply with a great brush & formula. I did as always place the glitter particles strategically in some areas!

I would definitely recommend this polish. I was rather impressed by it!

Work OOTD #3

Hey guys!

The warmer weather seems to have arrived in my part of Scotland (by warmer I mean it has hit the scorching temperature of 17 degrees Celsius instead of being only 12 degrees). Since it has felt more like summer I have been wearing my daisy print baby doll dress from Topshop to work and also on my days off. I love the daisy print on this dress. It reminds me so much of when I was a kid in the 90's and daisy's were plastered on the front of crop tops. I'm a total fan of Topshop's baby doll dresses-they always fit so well and are really flattering!

I am also wearing a necklace from Katy Perry's new collection for Claire's Accessories which says "Hero" on it.

Sunny Sunday

I cannot believe it is the 1st of June 2014 already! It literally seems like a few weeks since we started the new year. It is rather crazy!

I hope you have all had a really good year so far and that you are enjoying your Sunday.

My nails today are horrible!!! I am not happy with them at all. Major note to self-never paint your nails in the evening with bad lighting ever again!

I've taken a photo which doesn't show the extent of their awfulness as I thought you might be interested in seeing this weeks polish combo. I'm wearing Bourjois's Lilac 1 Second Polish along with Rimmel's silver Space Dust Polish.

I'm going to my cousins wedding at the end of the coming week so I will be changing my polish for that (thank goodness).
