A Cheeky Wee NOTD Post

Hey guys!

I am loving the nail polish that I am wearing this week so I really wanted to show it to you. Thats why I'm doing this wee impromptu post. The lilac polish is Nails Inc's Abbey Road Polish and the glitter is Barry M's Atlantis Polish. Aren't they just gorgeous?!

Have you tried either of these polishes before? What do you think of this combination?

Breville Blend Active Blender: One Year On

My Breville Blend Active Blender is now over one year old and I have literally used it almost everyday since I got it. It was £29.99 very well spent.

I still love it as much now as the first time I tried it. I would be pretty lost without being able to blend up fresh fruit everyday. I think it has really benefited my health.

You can watch both of my review videos here http://youtu.be/sqRqk1GDOGY  and here http://youtu.be/HjNWpBT0hT4 .

My Breville Blend Active is one of the best discoveries I have ever made and I can't rave about it enough. It is so easy to use and clean. I highly recommend it!

Do you have a Breville Blend Active Blender? Or would you like to get one? What are your thoughts?

Topshop's Silver Spoon Polish

I really like Topshop's Silver Spoon polish because it is a very unusual grey/lilac/silver pearlised polish. I don't have any other polish like it. I am loving wearing it with colourful glitter polish at the moment.

This polish has an excellently smooth polish formula which applies effortlessly to the nails. The brush is perfect for applying this beautiful polish and it dries really quickly. It is also really long lasting when worn with a good base and top coat.

If you are looking for a polish that is a little bit different to what you normally wear I would recommend this one.

What do you think of Topshop's Silver Spoon polish? Would you normally wear this shade of polish?

Interview with Kimberley from Kimberley's Beauty Blog

I have decided to start a blog series where each week I feature one great blogger and/or YouTuber. I am so excited for you all to read the interviews and find out about some of my favourite bloggers who are also extremely lovely girls.

First up, we have Kimberley who has a gorgeous blog and some great YouTube videos. You can checkout her blog here http://www.kimberleysbeautyblog.com and her YouTube channel here https://www.youtube.com/user/KimberleysBeauty . She is an absolutely awesome girl so go and say hi to her. You can find the rest of her social media links at the end of this post.

1)Do you have a favourite shade or favourite brand of nail polish at the moment?

My favourite brand of nail polish is Essie. There are a huge variety of shades available, the formula and brush is just right and they are priced reasonably. My all time favourite shade is probably Bahama Mama. It's a rich berry and I reach for it all the time, particularly in Autumn and Winter. My favourite Spring/Summer shade is something more neutral/pink toned like Muchi.

2)How long have you been writing your blog for?

I've had my blog for two and a half years now... the time has flown by so quickly!

3)Are there any blog posts that you would love to write that you have not had the chance to yet?

I would like to write about my Top 5 products across different brands. It's a series I have already started and I would like to do more of.

4)What inspired you to start your blog?

My friends inspired me to start my blog. They used to ask me what products I used for my makeup and hair etc or for tips and encouraged me to put it online. At first I hesitated because I didn't think anyone would be interested in reading it but I gave it a go and was shocked by the amount of readers and comments I got.. I haven't looked back since.

5)Have you got a favourite make up product right now?

Gosh this is a hard one.... If I was to choose just one I'd choose Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. It's a product I discovered last year and I love it because it gives great coverage and a healthy glow to my skin. It also lasts longer than any other foundation I have tried.

6)Have you watched any good films lately that you would recommend?

I haven't actually watched a film for ages because I've been more into watching TV series at the moment.

7)Are there any TV shows that you are addicted to just now?

I'm totally addicted to Pretty Little Liars. It has so many twists and turns I can't switch it off!

8)What are your beauty essentials?

My first beauty essential is my Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm. After using this not only is my makeup removed but my skin looks healthy. I team this with my Make a Difference moisturiser or Drink it Up Origins face mask which are both staples in my beauty regime.

As for makeup, I would say Nars Sheer Glow is a beauty essential as is a good Mascara like Tarte Lights Camera Lashes or Too Faced Better Than Sex. Mascara instantly makes you look more awake and your eyes bigger so it's a must for me.

9)Do you have a piece of jewellery that you cannot stop wearing?

Yes, my beautiful engagement ring!

10)Which beauty products are on your lust list right now?

There's quite a few which are featured here on my blog (http://www.kimberleysbeautyblog.com/2015/02/beauty-my-current-beauty-wish-list.html) but my top one has got to be the Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette. It contains three large blushes in different shades which look stunning. They would be perfect for Spring and Summer as they also have a little shimmer in them too.

11)Is there anything in your wardrobe that you adore wearing at the moment?

My favourite thing to wear at the moment are skater dresses. The shape suits my figure really well and you can easily throw together an outfit that looks good without having to think about it too much.

12)Are there any high street shops that you have to go in every time you walk past?

I love new look because they have such a great range of products at afforable prices. Everytime I go in there I never fail to find something I like.

Lush is also another shop I always go in. I love that they have some products that are available all year round which become favourites and also limited edition ranges- they are always very tempting.

13)Do you have any hair styling tools that you use all of the time?

My most used styling tools are my GHD straighteners and the Babyliss Waving Wand. Most mornings I will be reaching for one of these.

14)What do you enjoy most about blogging?

I love that blogging has introduced me to lots of new brands I never knew even existed before. There's nothing better than finding an amazing new product and being about to share it with your readers. I also love attending product launches as you can find out so much information and meet new people. I have made a lot of lovely friends through blogging who I never would have met if I hadn't started.

15)Have you been buying any new beauty products in Boots lately?(I know we all love Boots!)

Yes! The latest edition to my makeup collection has been the Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder. I've seen people rave about it for years so thought it was about time I gave it a go.

I think Kimberley gave some brilliant answers. It was great fun to think up these questions and to see Kimberley's answers.  I would like to say a massive thank you to Kimberley for taking the time to answer my questions.

Models Own's Colour Chrome Green Polish

Models Own's Colour Chrome Green Polish is a very exciting pastel metallic green polish. I find it super exciting because I don't have any other metallic green polishes in a pastel shade.

This polish has a beautiful, fast drying formula which glides smoothly onto the nails. Make sure you leave a few minutes between coats as it starts to dry as soon as it is applied. The brush does a good job at applying the polish and I used two coats to make sure that my polish was streak free. As I said above, this polish dries really quickly. It is also really hard wearing.

I love how this polish reflects the light. It is such a gorgeous green polish to have for the spring time.

What do you think about this polish? Have you tried any of the Models Own Colour Chrome Polishes yet?

Orly's Silver Holographic Glitter Polish

Orly's Silver Holographic Glitter Polish is exactly as it's name suggests. It's a silver holographic glitter polish. It was really difficult to capture its beauty on camera but in real life it is very holographic indeed which is great.

I found there was too much clear polish in proportion to glitter but I managed to scoop the glitter out. Once I managed to get the glitter onto the brush the glitter applied nicely to the nails. I was fairly strategic about its placement. It dried in good time and wasn't too catchy.

I really love how this polish looks but I was a little bit disappointed with the amount of clear polish that was in the bottle as it was just too much.

Overall, I do love the holographic effect.

What do you guys think about this polish? Have you tried Orly Polishes before?

Mindy Kaling: Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)

I absolutely LOVE Mindy Kaling. I discovered her on her TV show The Mindy Project which is awesome (I will have to write a post on it soon).

I was intrigued to learn more about her so I downloaded her biography called Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns). It was such a funny and enjoyable read. She gives great insight into the world of comedy writing as well as hilarious stories from her childhood as well as adult life. I chuckled out loud many times as some of her stories are uniquely hilarious!

I think if you watch her show before you read her book it might be of benefit. Then you can read the book in her voice which is basically what I did.

Mindy's book was a great read so I would definitely recommend it to you if you are a fan of The Mindy Project or of you like biographies.

Have you read this book or seen Mindy's TV show? If so, what are your thoughts? I would love to hear from you!

NEW VIDEO: Beauty Haul-Feb 2015

Hey guys!

I've bought some really lovely nail polishes & other beauty products recently so I thought I would let you see what I got. I love watching haul videos!

Here is my new video! http://youtu.be/KcGQ41UrBZo

Tanya Burr's Dark Magic Polish

I really needed a new black polish so I was very happy when I tried Tanya Burr's Dark Magic Polish and loved it. This polish is so lovely and gives a black patent effect so easily.

The formula was very impressive as I think I could have managed to get away with just one coat of this polish but I chose to apply two coats for total opacity. This polish brush does its job well and the polish dried quickly. It lasted pretty well on my nails.

I think black polish is an essential polish to have. I normally only use Nails Inc's Black Taxi polish but now I will also be using Tanya's Dark Magic Polish.

What do you guys think? Do you have a favourite black polish?

Topshop's Sweetie Belle Polish

Topshop's Sweetie Belle is a gorgeous lilac polish with a gold shimmer running through it. This polish can look quite pink in some lights but it is still just as lovely.

Topshop are seriously on top of their polish game right now!

This polish was lovely to apply and the formula was great. I needed three light to medium coats of this polish for full opacity as this Polish was slightly more sheer. The brush as always was fantastic. It dried quickly and as with all of Topshop's polishes was long lasting.

I think this is such a pretty polish! It's such a beautiful polish to have as we leave winter behind.

What do you guys think about Topshop's Sweetie Belle polish? Do you like the shimmer through it?

My Blog's 2nd Birthday!!

Oh my goodness- my blog is two years old today. I am still absolutely loving blogging and am so happy that I decided to start writing a blog two years ago. It is so much fun.

I have had the opportunity to share my thoughts on beauty and fashion with other like minded people which is awesome.

I have chatted to so many lovely bloggers and YouTubers and I class many of them as friends.

If you would like to start a blog or a YouTube channel you should totally go for it. It is honestly one of the best things that I've ever done and is such a fun hobby to have.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my blog since the early days and continues to support it now. I really appreciate it so much.

Heres to another year of blogging fun!

One to Watch: Nashville

I hadn't heard anyone talking about the TV show Nashville so I held off watching it. I got the box set for christmas and I am so glad I did.

Nashville is a great show and definitely one which I would recommend to you guys. It's about two hugely successful and famous country music singers and everything that the life of a superstar entails. If you like Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, The OC etc I am pretty sure you will like Nashville.

I felt the first couple of episodes were a bit slow but after that the story lines were really good and there were often major twists and complete shocks. Some of the more upbeat music is so good that I've downloaded it from iTunes.

It's a really interesting show in my opinion because it is about the music industry. I definitely think its worth a watch.

Have you seen Nashville or have you been pondering whether to watch it? I would love to hear what you guys think!

River Island Eyebrow Tee

I bought this extremely cute T-shirt from River Island before christmas and just have not managed to show it to you yet.

I love the eyebrows on it. I just think it is so humorous especially because I draw on my eyebrows as parts of them are non-existent.

It's a super comfy T-shirt too and isn't too short! I like to wear it with chequered black and white tube trousers from Miss Selfridge.  You could totally wear it tucked into a skirt or shorts.

What do you guys think about this T-shirt? Do you like the slogan T-shirts which seem to be hitting the high street right now?
