Purple & Silver Glitter Nails

Hey guys!

I loved wearing this combination of purple polish with a holographic silver glitter polish a few weeks ago.  The gorgeous purple polish is Topshop's Plume polish and the awesome glitter polish is Barry M's Starlight polish. How cute is that little star?!

What do you guys think of this combination? Are you a fan of purple polish?

Project Life #7 Sneak Peak

I thought I would show you a couple of the less embarrassing pages from the scrapbook that I'm making for my Mum's 60th birthday since I have rambled on about it for the last week.

I hope you like it and it makes you smile! I have tried to put a lot of humour into it.

Let me know if you have started a scrapbook or want to start making one! I would love to hear from you guys!

Project Life #6 My Scrapbook Layout

As you probably already know I am making this scrapbook for my mums 60th birthday.

I had a lot of family photos from the last two years that I hadn't even printed out so I decided to do a section of the scrapbook with those in it.

I also printed out some old family photos with my grandparents in them and made a wee section in the scrapbook with those.

As I'm making this scrapbook over the whole year I will have separate sections for each month. I bought some Project Life dividers from amazon for £7.99 however you could make your own dividers or have a way of differentiating each month.

I might add extra sections throughout the year if I think of anything else but this seems to be how I'm setting out the scrapbook at the moment.

If you have any additional ideas let me know! What do you guys think? I would love to hear from you!

My 1 Year YouTube Anniversary

I cannot believe that it has been one whole year since I uploaded my very first YouTube video. The year has absolutely flown by and I have had so much fun filming videos.

Starting my YouTube channel is literally one of the best things I have ever done. I had wanted to do it for years but didn't have the courage. So, managing to actually film and upload videos was a huge achievement for me.

If any of you have been pondering whether to make YouTube videos my advice is to GO FOR IT!!!! It is so much fun and you get to interact with lots of lovely people from the blogging and youtube-ing world. It's just such a cool experience and if I can do it then so can you!

Thank you so much to all of you who have watched my videos since I started a year ago and to everyone who has subscribed since.  I hope we have another year of YouTube banter ahead of us.

Have you ever wanted to make YouTube videos? Or have you recently made your first few videos? I would love to hear from you!

Project Life #5 Getting Creative

As I have said in previous posts- you don't have to buy all of the things I have mentioned to make a lovely scrapbook. I have been getting creative with things I have lying around my house.

I had a major clear out of my nail polish collection recently and I found quite a few ancient polishes that I could use to make glittery backgrounds for my photos as my photos don't always have a nice background.

You could also include little paintings or drawings in your scrapbook. I'm not very good at drawing so I will do little paintings in mine.

You could make backgrounds for your photos or make mini collages out of magazines or newspapers that you have at home.

I have also made backgrounds by taking photos of my tartan scarf and some of my checked tube trousers as I love the patterns on them. You could totally take photos of things with a great pattern and use them in your scrapbook.

If you have scraps of pretty wrapping paper or ribbon left over you could definitely use them to brighten up your scrapbook. I certainly will!

I recently bought some adhesive foam letters from amazon for £2.99 per pack and some foam hearts from amazon also for £2.99 per pack. They are an affordable way to decorate your scrapbook.

What do you guys think? Do you have any other ideas about what I could include in my scrapbook that I have lying around at home?

Project Life #4 The Gadgets

In Lily Pebbles scrapbooking video she mentioned that she used a glue mouse (tape pen?) and a corner shaper when scrapbooking so I thought I'd buy them myself and test them out.

The glue mouse and corner shaper are two gadgets that I can't believe that I lived without before. Ok, I didn't really need them before but if you are starting a scrapbook they are just the BEST gadgets ever.

The glue mouse is amazing. I bought mine from hobbycraft for £3.00.  Occasionally, it gets stuck and glue won't come off the roll but it's never a major problem. It is such an easy and mess free way to stick your photos on to other things. It is just brilliant and I wish I had had one of these years ago when I was younger instead of Pritstick.

I never had a need for a corner shaper until now and I love it. Your photos and cards look so much more beautiful in your scrapbook if they have rounded corners for some weird reason. Obviously, you don't have to do this but I think it looks awesome. Clipping the corners off of your photos becomes addictive though so beware! I bought mine from amazon for £7.85.

I can't rave about either of these gadgets enough. You don't need lots of fancy tools to make your scrapbook look great. These two gadgets are all I think I need for my scrapbook. I think it is looking pretty cool so far if I do say so myself.

I also bought some cute sticky letters from Hobbycraft to use in my scrapbook. They cost £2.00 per sheet which is fairly expensive for the amount you get but these really look excellent in my scrapbook.

I have used them to annotate photos and to add in cute funny phrases or names that we use in our family. I really love these letters so I will be buying some more.

What are your thoughts on Project Life Scrapbooking? Have you used either of these gadgets for scrapbooking or crafts before? Let me know!

NEW VIDEO: Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Review

Hey guys!

My new Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Review Video is live on my YouTube channel now!

I really love my Kindle so much so I wanted to share my thoughts about it with you in case you have been pondering whether to buy one. I hope you enjoy it!

You can see my new video here: http://youtu.be/NQ9T_xdWLB4

Project Life #3: The Scrapbooking Cards

To make your own project life scrapbook you definitely don't have to buy their starter set of cards. However, I have absolutely loved using mine and I would highly recommend them. I bought the Happy Edition set from amazon for £29.95.

You completely get your monies worth from this box of cards. They enable you to have pages with a colour scheme and give you ideas just by looking at them as to how you could present your scrapbook. There are hundreds of double sided cards and I could literally just sift through them all day looking at how lovely they are and coming up with ideas for the scrapbook.

Again, you don't need to buy these to create a lovely scrapbook but I absolutely love my set and I'm so happy that I bought it.

I also then bought two additional card kits from amazon. The Super Cute set was £9.99 and the Love Notes set was £12.99. Both sets are gorgeous and in my opinion were worth the price. They have added something a bit more special to my Mum's surprise scrapbook.

Would you like to make a Project Life Scrapbook? Have you tried the Project Life Starter Set? What did you think of it?

Project Life #2 The Folder & Page Protectors

I chose the folder my mums birthday from Hobbycraft. I knew she would really like it as it is pink. There were only a coupe of styles on Hobbycraft to choose from which is a shame! This folder is so great as it is extremely sturdy. Hopefully it will stay in good condition so when I give it to mum she will think it looks lovely!

This folder cost £19.99 from Hobbycraft but you could always check the specifications and get a less expensive one from somewhere else.

I think part of what makes Project Life Scrapbooking so special is the page protectors that you can buy. They are the clear sheets with pockets for photos etc on them that you can slide your photos into. I originally couldn't find any Style A page protectors so I bought Style D from Hobbycraft for £6.99 for a pack of 12(which is 24 sides to fill up). I then bought style C from Hobbycraft again for £6.99 for a pack of 12. I then finally managed to buy two packs of 12 Style A page protectors from amazon for £6.99 each.

I accidentally bought small page protectors from amazon for £4.99. They would be really cool to use to make a wee book of photos and things you want to remember. You can obviously also use them in your scrapbook.

I am so glad that these page protectors were invented as they really are great for displaying your photos and decorative cards. They are also extremely easy to use when you don't have much time to spend on scrapbooking.

What do you guys think about Project Life Scrapbooking? Is it something you think you would like to do?

Why I Started A Project Life Scrapbook

I had never heard of Project Life Scrapbooking until I saw Lily Pebbles video about her scrapbook. I didn't expect it to be something I would be that interested in but once I saw how cool Lily's scrapbook looked I thought that maybe I could make one for my mums 60th birthday.

I made my dad a collage of family photos which I framed for his 60th birthday so I knew that I needed to make my mum something as equally special for her 60th. Lily's scrapbooking video totally opened my eyes to what would make an amazing present for my mum. So, I need to say a huge thank you to Lily for sharing her hobby with us all!

My mum loves photographs and photo albums but lately we haven't been taking as many photos or printing as many photos as we used to. Therefore, it will be a special scrapbook for the whole family.

My Dad and I have already started taking photos for the scrapbook which we will have to keep as a surprise until next year-please wish us luck! That is going to be very difficult. I have been doing a lot of secret project stuff lately.

I am going to have to try to encourage my Mum to take part in photos with us for the next year. I have decided to tell her that we don't take enough photos so we should really aim to take at least one photo a day. We shall see how that goes!

So far I have been absolutely loving compiling this scrapbook for my Mum. It's so much fun and rather therapeutic to do so I would definitely recommend attempting to keep a scrapbook. You might be surprised how much you enjoy it!

What are your thoughts on making a scrapbook? Would you like to give it a go?

Topshop Legendary Glitter Polish

My love for Topshop nail polish continues to grow with every great polish I try. This gorgeous Topshop Polish is called Legendary and it is an amazing pink and blue sparking glitter. There are medium sized glitter particles as well as tiny specs.

I am so happy that I have added this polish to collection as it is really awesome. It obviously looks ten times nicer in real life.

The formula of this glitter polish is great and it applies beautifully. The brush makes it easy to strategically place the glitter. It dries really quickly and it's also crazily hard wearing.

Overall, this is such a pretty, sparkly and colourful polish which I would definitely highly recommend.

Have you tried this polish before? I would love to hear your thoughts on it!

Nails Inc's Alexa Stars Glitter Polish

Nails Inc's Alexa Stars Glitter Polish is an awesome gold and silver glitter polish.

I painted it over Alexa Night Sky Navy polish which I think looks great. I do actually really love this polish but there are a couple of things to be aware of.

It can be quite difficult to get the stars onto your nails with the brush. I used the brush to pull the stars to the rim of the polish bottle so I could then pick them up individually with a cocktail stick and place them on my nails. This worked quite well.

I think less is definitely more with these stars so I started to decrease how many I was applying to each nail.

Also, be warned that the stars don't stick flat down on to your nail as most people's nails are curved. This means that their corners tend to stick out a bit with the possibility of accidentally catching on your clothes. I applied a top coat over my stars to make sure they were sealed on to my nails.

These things really don't bother me that much so I still really really love this polish but I thought I should let you guys know!

What do you think about this nail polish? Do you think the effort involved in this polish is worth it?

Round Jewell Necklace

My mum picked out this Round Jewell Necklace from Marks & Spencer's as a Christmas present for me.

I really love how large the jewels are as it means they are big and sparkly-you know how much I love sparkle!! It is slightly different in that it has a cord rather than a chain. That is cool though as it reminds me of necklaces that I had in the 1990's.

I really like this sparkly Jewell necklace. What do you think about it? I love to hear your thoughts!
