Goodbye Granny

Hey guys,

My Granny unfortunately just passed away yesterday which was also my birthday.

I know that you will all understand why I don't have daily blog posts being published or twice weekly YouTube videos being uploaded. I need to just spend time with my family during this sad period.

My Granny lived a long life surrounded by loving family members-here is a photo of my grandparents on their wedding day. Don't they look fabulous?!

Hopefully I will be back to my normal blogging & you tubing schedule soon.

My Latest Unfinished Painting

I decided to paint again the other day as I needed some kind of creative outlet. I am glad I made time for it as I really enjoy it. However, I have run out of blank canvases so I will need to buy some more.

As you will see I haven't actually finished this painting yet. I don't know yet whether I will paint a solid black line to seperate the different areas of the painting or whether I will do something else.

I just wanted to share this with you as I like to see things that other bloggers have created whether it be artwork,nail art or fashion pieces. I was trying to express the transition from negative emotions to positive ones.

Anyway I thought I would share something a bit more personal with you today.

Black Suede Biker Boots

The first pair of Biker Boots that I purchased were these perforated suede ones. I was really unsure of whether I would be able to pull them off but since the first time I wore them I have never looked back.

They are not too manly which makes them perfect and they are extremely comfortable. They look very cute with dresses and add a bit of a grungy edge to what I'm wearing which I really love. As these boots are suede it means that they are not too hot to wear in the summer which is great as I'm an all year round boots wearer!

I love the buckle detailing on them as well as the perforated section. It's really unique!

All in all I just love these boots-I would definitely recommend trying out a pair of Biker Boots! If I can pull them off then anyone can.

Maybelline Forever Strong Gel Polish in Pink In The Park

Maybelline's Forever Strong Gel Nail Polish in Pink In The Park is a really lovely pale pink colour. I don't really own many very pale pink polishes as I used to find them a bit boring compared to other brighter polishes. However, I am now loving pale polishes and thought I would add this one to my collection.

The thick polish brush was great to apply the polish with although I did find the polish formula a tad thin. However, this is just my own personal preference and it still did the job. I only used two coats of this polish but I felt it was slightly streaky. I would probably advise using three coats of this polish if you have the patience.

Despite these minor criticisms I have used much worse polish and I will be wearing it again in the future. It is a really pretty colour.

OOTD #7

It was a really stormy, dark and cold day yesterday so I decided to wear my tropical print dress from Miss Selfridge to work. I was hoping it would bring out the sunshine and it eventually did!

I love the vibrant colours on this dress. It really cheers you up during a day at work. I think the style of the dress is really flattering and it is also extremely comfortable. The material is gorgeous too. It is a fairly thick, silky, almost scuba type material which is perfect for chilly days.

I think you can still buy this dress so go and snap one up now if you like it. It might even be reduced!

Models Own's Flip Flop Polish For Tans

How amazing is Models Own's neon green Flip Flop polish?! This Polish is part of the Polish For Tans collection however I don't think you necessarily need to be tanned for this polish to look awesome. 

I absolutely love this bright neon green polish. Most people who saw me wearing it loved it too although my dad wasn't too impressed by it. I think it is probably more loved by females.

I found that the formula of this Polish was  pretty good. It wasn't too thick and applied smoothly. The brush was great and I only needed two coats of polish. It wasn't streaky at all which was great.

I would highly recommend this polish as it is such a statement colour. I haven't found an opaque neon green polish which is good as this one...ever!!

NEW VIDEO: Songs To Help You Through Tough Times

So this weeks first new video is a little different to my normal videos. 

I thought I would share a couple of songs that I have found that really help me when I am feeling a bit down. I always listen to music but sometimes I need really upbeat songs or songs with a strong message to help me out when I am not feeling my best.

Sunday NOTD

I was feeling in the mood for really bright nails again this week. I decided to wear Models Own's Sun Hat Polish which is a neon pink colour. I love how incredibly neon it is yet it is still a great opaque polish.

I have added a coat of Barry M's Diamond glitter polish to one of my nails for a bit of sparkle. It is really subtle. You hardly notice it.

What do you guys think of this combination? Do you think the glitter is too subtle?

Next Strap Detail Boots

I am loving these Strap Detail Boots from Next at the moment. They are really comfy and look super cute with dresses.

I don't have any other boots like them so I am so glad I snapped them up. They are quite a soft, dull leather which is a bit different to any boots that I have had before. I really love them.

You can wear these boots with the tops turned down showing the lining which is a nice option to have. I like to wear them with the tops left up.

What do you guys think of these boots? Do you have a pair of boots that you are loving wearing at the moment?

Barry M Silk Effects Pearl Nail Polish

I have purchased quite a few new Barry M Polishes lately so expect lots of posts on them soon.

I was feeling like a bit of a change in the colour of polish that I have been wearing so I decided to purchase Barry M's Pearl Silk Effects Polish. In the past I have not really been drawn to pale,white polishes but now I really like them.

Barry M's Pearl Silk Effects Polish is a lovely pearlised polish with a shimmer throughout. It applies really nicely with the brush provided and has a great formula. I only needed two coats of this polish for it to be totally opaque which was a pleasant surprise.

If you are looking for something a bit  different that you wouldn't normally choose I would recommend trying this pearl polish! It's really pretty and you could mix things up a bit and use it in conjunction with another polish.

Worth A Watch: Educating Essex

I watched Educating Essex when it was first shown on Channel 4 and totally fell in love with it. I have just watched the whole series again on Netflix and loved it just as much. 

It is a frank and funny documentary focusing on the challenges of both being a pupil and being a teacher. It is great to watch as a young adult because it reminds you of all the mischief that surrounded you at school but also provides a teachers perspective.

I can only dread to think the kind of things that kids at my secondary school used to get up to and what would have been captured on camera if it had been filmed.

I highly recommend watching Educating Essex if you are able to. There were so many moments where I literally couldn't stop chuckling about what the kids had done or said.

My Favourite Mug

Until I became an avid peppermint tea drinker I really hadn't paid much attention to Cath Kidston's home ware collections. However, last christmas I fell in love with one of her christmas santa mugs which started my obsession.

I discovered this gorgeous floral mug when I was trying to buy a replacent santa mug because my dad accidentally smashed my original one.

Not only does this mug have a beautiful design but it is also the perfect size. It is so comfy to hold as it's not too heavy and the handle is just the right shape.

Every morning I reach for this mug. I think I would be a little lost without it.

Do you guys have an absolute favourite mug for your tea/coffee? What do you think of this Cath Kidston one?

New Painting

I have finally had some time to be creative and have managed to do another painting. I was feeling a bit rubbish the other day so I thought painting might be quite therapeutic. It actually helped a lot. Sometimes I just need a creative outlet but I don't always give myself time to be creative.

I've been feeling a bit all over the place at the moment so I think this painting kind of represents that. Although it does look a bit like flowers floating in water again-that was not my intention though.

Wet paint doesn't seem to photograph very well. It's a shame I can't show you it in real life!

Sunday NOTD

Hey guys!

This Sunday I have decided to paint my nails with some very bright nail polish. I couldn't resist trying out my new bright neon green Models Own Polish which is called Flip Flop. 

Some may find this polish garish however I am totally embracing its boldness. I actually really like it. 

I added some of the Loreal Colour Riche Confetti Top Coat to one of my nails to make them even more interesting. I was worried this might be too much but I think it looks great!

Boots Limited Edition Barry M Carousel Polish

Every season Barry M create limited edition polishes which are available exclusively at Boots and Superdrug. This summer I have managed to get my hands on all four polishes from both shops.

The polish I am featuring today is from Boots and it is called Carousel. It is a gorgeous coral colour with an amazing gold shimmer throughout it. I really like this polish as it is quite interesting.

The formula is great and applies smoothly with the perfect brush provided. I only needed two coats of polish for total opaqueness. The quality of the Polish is excellent as is always true with Barry M polishes and I find them really hard wearing.

Nail Polish Haul

As always I have been finding new nail polish to purchase. Last week I ventured into superdrug to see if they had the Models Own Polishes for Tans in stock and they didn't have any. I ended up purchasing the two in the photograph from amazon.

While Superdrug failed to stock the polishes I had actually gone into the shop to buy they did however have a 3 for 2 offer across all polishes!

So, I picked up Superdrugs limited edition Barry M polishes along with one of their standard nail paints.

I was feeling in a pastel kind of mood so I bought these lovely Maybelline Superstay Gel Polishes.

I can't wait to try all of these polishes out!
