Nails Inc's Baker Street Polish 2014

The first ever nail polish post that I wrote back in March 2013 was about Nails Inc's Baker Street polish. It is such a gorgeous blue polish that I thought seeing as I received it in my Nails Inc Christmas Crackers I should post about it again. Preferably with much better photographs. Nails Inc is known for its amazing Baker Street polish and I think it is blatantly obvious as to why this is the case. This polish is just such a beautiful colour. It looks so eye catching when it is on your nails and it is a pleasure to wear. I don't think it looks garish at all, its the perfect blue polish and is popular with those in the public eye such as Beyonce!

The formula of this polish is fantastic and it is something that I love about Nails Inc. The brush applies the polish wonderfully-its just the right size. I would usually always apply two coats of this polish but you might be able to get away with just one! I also find that Nails Inc polishes have fantastic staying power especially if you wear a base and top coat.

This polish is definitely one that is worth a purchase! It looks amazing with glitter over it so you can transform it from a day look to a night look easily.

Have you tried this polish? What do you think of the colour?

Plaidical Nail Polish Strips by Sally Hansen

Hey! Today I have some more red tartan nail polish strips to show you that are slightly different to the ones that I have worn before. These are Sally Hansen's Plaidical Nail Polish Strips which have a vertical and horizontal pattern in comparison with the ones I posted about  previously which had a diagonal pattern. These ones are also slightly metallic which is cool. I love red tartan so much and always have but I know how much the rest of the UK is loving tartan too right now so thought it was worth posting about these polish strips in case you missed my other tartan nail polish strips post.

These are pretty awesome. I could totally see Katy Perry wearing these especially since she is taking a lot of fashion inspiration from the 1990's right now. I am loving having tartan nails at the moment. You can't beat looking down at your nails and thinking "woop I've got tartan nails, hell yeah!"

If you want to see my top tips for applying Sally Hansen's Nail Polish Strips and want to read a full & detailed review then you can check out my original post here: http://scottishstefsnails.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/sally-hansen-nail-polish-strips.html

My Favourite Nail Art Designs

I thought it would be a nice idea to see some of the nail art designs that I posted about in 2013 all in one post. I know a lot of you probably won't have seen these older posts as no one really read my blog for quite a few months so I have put the links for each post below each photo. I hope you like them and can take inspiration from them!

Ciate All Aglow Gold Glitter Polish

Ciate's All Aglow Gold Glitter Polish was one of the 24 polishes I found in my Ciate Mini Mani Month Calendar 2013. It consists of fine rose gold and yellow gold glitter particles. I think you could apply this polish as a full coverage polish but I decided to paint it over black polish as I thought the gold glitter would stand out more. I think it looks really nice with a hint of black peeking through. I love how this glitter combines the two different gold tones. I don't have any other gold glitter polishes like this which is great as I am always on the look out for something unique to wear on my nails.

I thought that Ciate had really stepped up in 2013 with their Mini Mani Month Advent Calendar. I thought their polish selection was superb and I'm so glad they have introduced this pretty gold glitter polish into my life.

What are your thoughts on this gold glitter polish?

Essie Sunday Funday Polish

Essie's Sunday Funday Polish is such a lovely coral colour with a subtle shimmer through it. This polish is definitely brightening up my winter months. I love this colour. I can't seem to get enough coral polish actually. If you love coral too then this is definitely one to add to your collection especially since it has a gorgeous shimmer through it. Essie polishes have such great formulas and I love their brushes too. Therefore, this polish was a dream to apply and looks prefect after just two coats of polish.

I can't recommend this polish highly enough!

What do you think of this polish? Have you tired it?

Nails Inc's Marylebone Lane Red Glitter Polish

I received Nails Inc's Marylebone Lane Red Glitter Polish for Christmas in my Nails Inc Christmas Crackers. It is a full coverage red glitter polish which is perfect for the festive period and any time throughout the year when you want some red sparkly nails. Nails Inc usually always produce really high quality full coverage glitters and this polish is no exception. You only need two coats of this polish for complete coverage which is brilliant. The formula, brush and longevity of this polish are all great too!

Do you wear sparkly red polish throughout the year or do you tend to only wear it at Christmas? What are your favourite red glitter polishes? I also really like Barry M's red glitter polish!

Topshop Daydream Polish

Topshop's Daydream polish is an absolutely beautiful pale bubblegum pink colour which looks so cute on your nails. The opaque formula leaves your nails flawless and just looks so amazing. I have a feeling that so many of you will love this polish. I was never really a big fan of pink when I was younger but now I pretty much love all colours of nail polish and I think this polish is especially lovely. Major salute to Topshop for creating such a fantastic formula and polishes that I just cannot fault!

Even just looking back at the photos now I'm thinking "ooh soooo pretty". I would definitely recommend this polish if you are looking for a gorgeous bubblegum pink!

Have you tried this polish before? What is your favourite pink polish? Let me know in the comments section!

Ciate Christmas Tree Caviar Pearls

I got these gorgeous Ciate Christmas Tree Caviar Pearls from the Ciate Advent Calendar 2013. Their name totally sums up just how festive they are. I have paired them with a lovely red polish for extra festiveness. I wish I had tired these pearls out a Christmas time but at least I know that I can wear them next year during the festivities. There are a mixture of red, green and gold pearls in the Christmas Tree Caviar Pearls which is such a perfect combination.

As I have said in pervious posts, I always use top coat to stick the pearls to my nails. I also would advise to apply these pearls on the day you want to wear them as they do fall off. I tested them to see whether these pearls could cope with me washing my hands and unfortunately the colour from the pearls did bleed so be really careful you don't get it on your clothes. I think you would probably have to keep the nails with the pearls on them away from water and just use anti bacterial gel on your fingers. This is a real shame and its something that I hope can be improved!

If you got the Ciate Advent Calendar have you tried these pearls out yet? What do you guys think of them?

Models Own Rocket Polish

Models Own's gorgeous Rocket polish is part of the Fireworks collection. It is an awesome mixed glitter polish that is comprised of tiny specs of green, blue and silver glitter along with large red hexagonal discs and large red strands of glitter. I think that this polish looks so great over black polish and it really looks like fireworks bursting into life in the sky at night. Oh gosh that was a bit of a tongue twister but I'm sure you know what I mean!

I actually like this polish a lot more than I thought u would. It applied really nicely and the formula was lovely. The glitter glided onto my nails really well and didn't go all gloopy so I am rather pleased.

I think this polish looks really effective! What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips: Check, Please!

The Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips that I am wearing this week are called Check, Please! They have an awesome black and white chequered pattern on them which I am a bit obsessed with. I love a bit of monochrome, don't you?! I would have loved these when I was about 14 during my 'I wish my hair could be as straight as Avril Lavigne's/I wear sweat bands round my wrists just cos its fashionable' stage. I'm sure some of you will remember this phase fondly! These nail polish strips do look pretty amazing and I have had a lot of compliments about them so they are clearly quite eye catching. If you want to make a bold statement with your nails then these are for you.

If you want to see my top tips for applying these Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips then check out my original review post here: http://scottishstefsnails.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/sally-hansen-nail-polish-strips.html

Topshop Flying Saucer Polish

Topshop's Flying Saucer polish is a gorgeous lilac polish which applies so beautifully. I am a huge fan of lilac polish and like all pastel nail polishes I just can't seem to get enough of them. I think I will have to do posts on all of my lilac, mint and duck egg blue polishes soon as I am building up quite a collection. Anyway, back to this lovely Topshop polish- as I have found with all Topshop polishes the formula is just beautiful and it is awesomely opaque in two coats. The brush is great too and applies the polish really nicely. I can't really fault Topshop polish in any way. I suppose it would be amazing if they cost £3.00 each rather than £6.00 each but we can't always have everything we want!

What do you think of this polish? Have you tired it? Would love to hear your thoughts!:)

Bourjois Laser Toppings Aqua Purple Polish

How gorgeous is this Bourjois Laser Toppings Aqua Purple Polish? I love it! It's like having tinsel on your nails! Again I have worn this polish over a black base but it would be interesting to see what it looks like over lilac or just built up as a full coverage glitter. The polish consists of pink and lilac strands of glitter. It is so lovely to apply-I actually enjoyed it! The formula is lovely and the brush is awesome so the glitter just glides on smoothly! I definitely recommend this polish as it is so versatile and glitzy too in its own unique way.

What do you think of the Bourjois Laser Toppings collection? Let me know your thoughts!:)

Nails Inc's Kings Road Foil Effect Polish

Nails Inc's Kings Road Foil Effect Nail Polish is one of the lovely polishes that I received from my Christmas Crackers. They were so pretty and lots of fun to pull. This probably isn't the kind of polish that would be on the top of my list to buy so I was looking forward to trying it out. Once it was on my nails it looked great. It is definitely a polish that I think I will spice up a bit with glitter of some kind. As it is not very shiny I think it will look great as a base for something a bit more exciting! I think it is the perfect foil nail polish.

As always the formula was fantastic and the polish applied flawlessly. The brush was great and as with all of Nails Inc's polishes they are very hard wearing. If you are looking for a foil nail polish I would recommend this one. It's really pretty on its own and you can totally jazz it up if it is too subtle for you.

I would love to hear what you think about this polish? Have you ever tried it?

Ciate Frost Yourself Caviar Pearls

How cute do these Ciate Frost Yourself Caviar Pearls look? I think this must be one of my favourite polish and pearl combos! The lovely caviar pearls were in my Ciate Advent Calendar at the end of last year and they are really pretty. They have a great name too. The pearls consist of a mixture of clear and deep blue beads which look gorgeous when they are on the nails. I used Topshop's Celestial blue polish as my base colour and applied the pearls to only one of my nails.

My top tip for sticking the pearls to your nails is to use a top coat rather than pouring them directly onto your polish. I recommend that you apply your pearls right before you plan to wear them because they tend to fall off and make washing your hands more difficult. I did the water test with these pearls to see if the ink would bleed when they got wet but luckily they did not.

What do you guys think of this combo? Have you tried Ciate Caviar Pearls before?

Zoya Zuza Polish

Zoya's Zuza polish is the first Zoya polish that I have ever tried. I am not sure whether they are readily available to buy in the UK but I ordered my polish from Amazon. Zuza is a really pretty shimmery turquoise colour which I chose because I do not really have any other polishes like it. On first sight I was preparing myself for disappointment as the brush looked a bit thin and the formula seemed a bit more watery than I like it to be. However, after trying the polish I was very pleasantly surprised. Yay! It's always good to be pleasantly surprised isn't it?! The formula was fairly good and the brush, although small in appearance, did the job perfectly. The polish applied nicely and was opaque in two coats! I think I should make that my new catch phrase- "opaque in two coats".

Overall, I am quite impressed by Zoya and will probably be purchasing another of their polishes in the future. This is a very pretty polish and I am glad I have now added a fresh take on turquoise polish to my collection.

Have you ever tried Zoya polish? Do you have a favourite that you would

Ciate Party Shoes Glitter Polish

One of my favourite polishes from my 2013 Ciate Mini Mani Advent Calendar has to be the Party Shoes Glitter Polish. This polish consists of gold, green and blue glitter particles. The green and blue glitter particles are slightly larger than the gold particles. I think this is such an unusual mixture of colours but it works so well. I painted this glitter polish over a black base and I think it looks amazing! I really liked how this polish glided on easily and was spread out rather evenly by the brush. I have not come across many gold and blue/green glitter polish combinations so I love this polish. It is quite unusual but still looks great.

Have you ever seen a glitter combination like this before? Let me know in the comments section!

Hear Me Roar! Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips

I have realised that I post on almost a weekly basis about Sally Hansen's Nail Polish Strips. I just love them so much and am always desperate to show you which design I am wearing! So, this post is on the awesome Hear Me Roar! Nail Polish Strips. I must admit, before I put them on I thought they looked a bit boring but once they were on my nails I was smitten. These strips are a powder blue colour with a plain black animal print pattern. They definitely don't look boring on my nails in the slightest. I'm really not sure why but they look really cool and unique. I think I will have to buy another pack of them because I just adore them! Plus the name Hear Me Roar! just reminds me of Katy Perry's song Roar which is one of my favourite songs.

What do you think? Can you see what makes them look so cool? I have no idea but I love them!

Loreal Sequin Explosion Glitter Polish

Loreal's Sequin Explosion glitter polish is a really nice multi-coloured party polish. It looks mainly silver in the bottle but once its on your nails you can see all of the lovely different colours. There are large hexagonal glitter particles along with small specs of glitter. The glitter consists of a great mix of pastel blue, pastel green, pastel pink and silver. I have applied this polish over a black base which I think makes the colours stand out more. This polish applied really well. The formula seems nice and the brush is good. I only needed one coat to make my nails super glittery. I really like this polish and there isn't anything bad to say about it. It's bottle is also really cute. Again, this polish is so nice for brightening up the dark winter days.

Have you tried this Loreal polish or any of the other polishes from this collection?

Ciate Jingle Belle Glitter

I have finally tried out my Ciate Jingle Belle Loose Glitter and it is so pretty. I painted my nails with pink polish and then chose two nails that I wanted to use the Jingle Belle Glitter on. I then painted one coat of top coat onto my chosen nails and sprinkled the glitter over them. I then tapped off the excess and gently pressed the glitter down. It's important you don't apply too much polish to the nails that you are planning to sprinkle the glitter on to as you end up with a squishy mess similar to the sequin manicure. If you want to keep the glitter on your nails I would advise applying a top coat over them however, this usually kills the awesome sparkle. Therefore, this gorgeous loose glitter is probably best worn for a night out.

It's so pretty and so easy to apply. Have you tried loose glitter on your nails? Let me know what you think!:)
